Gold award in November’s SWPP Architectural Competitionhttp://www.randelljohnphotography.com/gold-award-novembers-swpp-architectural-competition/
I really enjoy entering photography competitions, especially if they include an international contingent.
The Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers run a massive competition every month, and it attracts thousands of entrants from all over the world.
This month was no exception with entrants in the architectural photography section coming from, Ireland, Spain, Greece, Denmark, Malta, Lithuania, England, Russia and even as far as Australia.
I usually enter the portraiture competition, but after rummaging through some photographs I took at The Senydd last month, I was drawn to this photograph, that I thought had some potential.
I was really surprised this morning when I visited the site, and noticed that my photograph had been awarded a ‘Gold’ award.

The image will now be entered in next months photographer of the year contest, which will be held at The Metropole Hotel, London.
It will also be printed in Professional Imagemaker magazine, along with all the other category ‘Gold Awards’, and will be published in the new year.
November is the last competition of the year, as all the judges and staff at the SWPP are getting ready for the annual convention which is held in January, but I’m looking forward to next year, hopefully I can win my third ‘Gold’ – You never know, I might get lucky again.
